Choosing Vase

This Vase helps with a vital step in the Choosing Process. The slips of paper containing each and every name of the Final Fifty is placed in this vase, and the one woman who is to become Arburg's new queen is picked from it.( See here for more). This Vase is kept in the underground safety vault of The Royal Palace and guarded 24/7. It was manufactured as an anniversary present for King Harold II and his wife, Alexia. Since then, it has been a valued and protected royal artifact.

The vase is painted with a base of light, baby pink, and over it, smal golden leaves of different sizes were stuck on. Then over that, there is a sealing glaze of varnish. The inside is painted a light cream shade, and when the sun shines on it at an angle, it seems to glow. It is not like a normal vase, as it was never actually consturcted to hold flowers. It was meant as a decoration in itself, and therefore has a bowl-like shape, which also makes it ideal for the choosing ceremony.

Once, the vase was set out to be admired for anyone passing through, but when it was dropped accidentally and slightly crakced, although only hairline, it was moved immediately to the underground vault for sake-keeping.

Manufacturing process

It was hardened in a kiln, at extremely high temparatures.

Significance

It is a famou artifact that has been used for almost all the Choosings of the the King's new bride..
