Governor/Governess

The role of a Governor/ness is to teach middle- or higher-class children the fundementals of literacy. If the parents wish for their child to learn more, they have to find a specialised Governor/ness. Unfortunately, there are very few of them in Arburg.
June Ann Charles once wanted to be a governess, but her social rank and her family's wealth stood in the way of that happening.
The palace employs governors and governesses for the royal children until the age of 18. They are educated in law, politics, history, legends & myth, literature, and other noble subjects. The highest and mosst qualified tutors are hired to complete this job. One governor, Mr Gerhard Sedgeewe (pronounced SEDGE-yoowe) has been teaching at the palace for many years, and was Will's teacher, and now his mentor. He currently teaches Will's little sister.

The parents of the children that they tutor pay them per month. The payment ymounts can vary depending on experience, age and amount of teaching.

They are automatically seen as anything higher thatn lower class, mainly because you are allowed to become one if you are in the low class.

Having a governor or governess often acts as an embellishment to wealthy people's lives. The education that is brought to the household isn't really seen as extremely valuable asset.

Women of higher classes only recently received the priviledge of being allowed to become a governess. Lower class women are still not allowed to, though.
