Pleosal
Pleosal is the fourth smallest settlement in Arburg, and it is known for its huge industry in arable farming. It provides Arburg with most of its food.
Pronunciation
PLEE-oh-sal (the 'a' in 'sal' is pronounced like in 'hat' and 'sack')Industry & Trade
Their main industry is arable farming. They grow (and also process) wheat, barley, potatoes, sorghum and soybean. They trade these crops with most of Arburg in return for meat and oil, mostly. Some other towns have some subsistence farms, but they don't usually seek a market, so Pleosal is one of the main providers in the food market.
Infrastructure
They have mills, granaries, all which run on energy harnessed from the flowing waters of the river. Their hydro-technology was the first of its kind, and other towns have adopted that same technology since. See Hydro-tech for more information.
History
Pleosal was once under Eflaria, until it was named independently. It was just too far away from Eflaria to be under its ruling, and the Pleaosalians are small town people who disliked being part of a city.
Architecture
The houses are simple huts made of clay and wood. This mixture is due to the owner's choice. They are not there to be admired, but to serve practically as dwellings for all the family.
Migration
Young people often emigrate from Pleosal in search of a more exciting life, the most popular go-tos being Eflaria and Asmye. Immigrants are sparse, as the simple way of life is centred around farming, and any other way of life there is discouraged. The daily routine is just a lot of labour and hard work.Geography
It is located on the NW shore of Lake Helena, and it is the only settlement built right on the lake's shores. It also has access to the Part of Ashdare River that runs directly into Lake Helena. Trees flank both side of Pleosal. The only unprotected part of this village is in the North, which is where they have most of their big fields for crops.
