The Lifebeat spell uses the Source of Fate to provide healing to the living and a form of damage to the Undead. Those who accept healing from any Radiant Source must beware of the Radiant Sickness condition.
Effect
A Lifebeats spell specifically uses the Source of Light to instill Radiant energy. The subject cures HP equal to the Caster's Psyche Modifier.
Alternatively, if this spell is used on an Undead, it deals an amount of Radiant Damage instead ( Most Undead are damaged by Life magic, under normal conditions).
This spell activates instantly on a successful touch, and can only be used on the same Subject once during any single encounter.
Side/Secondary Effects
If the amount of temporary HP exceeds the subject's HP by more than half, they may develop Radiant Sickness. This effect is deleterious and becomes difficult to treat once it has advanced.
Manifestation
" The Caster speaks the words of the spell into cupped hands. The steady cadence of the Caster's heart can be heard through their hands as a pulse of radiant energy escapes, directed from the Caster's open hands into the patient. The sound of heartbeats settled as the magical aura infused the patient before dissipating.
