There is no water to be found save for a few large lakes to the west. His people become upset, but he remains steady in his ruling. His incentive for work and loyalty is that through the great city's rings, merchants from Elvask will bring their wares and stimulate their small economy.

The city's bustling economy gains wind throughout the population of the continent, and many people flock there to live. Insidia festers in his failing city, but relies strongly on the rings to bring him and his people wealth.

Cataclysm
Era beginning/end14 esoteric gates burst open in the skies of Arcadia, allowing hundreds of thousands of buglike invaders into the world (colloquially known as Doomsingers). The death counts are still unsettled, but 25 million were rumored to be killed in the first two months. Another 5 million followed that month, and decreased slowly until Origin's colossus destroyed the gates. Arcadia's total population is reduced by 65% All sapient races avoid extinction. Denizens comprise the majority of deaths, and Eluae the minority. Homunculi also suffered few loses, unlike humankind.
