Commander Tao Artemiev

Hailing from Illorin, Commander Tao Artemiev is a high-ranking member of the crownsguard, having earned the title of commander in the monarchy's ranks. Tao is a vehicle of the monarchy's desires, making an appearance in Santa Bella, attempting to kill Silvia Bolivar, as well as her father and fiance, in order to collapse the city's social structures, and achieve an unstable political environment perfect for the empire to control in entirety. Tao was also likely responsible for the disappearance of Octavia Serreno, leader of the Serreno clan.
Tao resides most primarily in Viso, in her quarters in the White Citadel, wherein she carries out experiments and other nefarious activity. Her most prolific work lies in hypnotism - it is known that she hypnotises a significant number of the misty-eyed crownsguard, suggesting potential further power.
Due to her heritage in Illorin, Tao does not place much significance in material objects, particularly in contrast to the hedonistic nature of many Montevillians. Tao wears simple crownsguard armour, generally stylised in green or brown as a nod to her region of origin, and an iconic broadbrimmed hat. She carries two scimitars, and, more often than not, a bottle of booze. Having lived for so long, she cares little for money, and values secrets and power above most things.
Tao is largely uninterested in most matters other than combat and alcohol. She expresses a disdain for general human life, and is a severe alcoholic.

Tao Artemiev presents as a tall elven woman with long, dark hair, more often than not, quite greasy. She is quite slim, but has broad shoulders. She is rarely seen without her large, wide-brimmed hat which covers her eyes, a traditional staple of Illorian clothing. She wears plain clothes and leather armour in accordance with the customs of her place of birth. She has a military background, having disguised herself as a man to join the Illorian infantry at a young age, due to boredom with her general lifestyle.
