Fevesto

The capital of Montevillo, Fevesto is a large, colourful, multicultural city. Fevesto is situated on the banks of The Kholat River. The King and Queen live in a large sun-bleached sandstone palace on a hill above the city. The city is surrounded by shanty towns in which the poorer population live. Though Fevesto maintains a facade of diversity and joviality, the city's nobles tend to be very corrupt, and the King and Queen hold a firm grasp on the city, taking particular interest in travellers and curious individuals that enter the city.

Demographics

The majority of the Fevestan population are human (approximately 70%) though halflings, gnomes, half-elves, and dragonborn also inhabit the city. Less common are tieflings, elves, and half-orcs, though it is not unusual to come across enclaves of them within the outskirts of the city, and the shanty towns.
The majority of Fevesto's population is fairly wealthy, as the King and Queen tend to deter poorer immigrants. A small amount of wealthy elite preside over the city. Many average citizens and migrants from Kinnegarde fall into the crownsguard soldier demographic, as the barracks of the military are situated near the palace, just outside the city.
Most working people in Fevesto are crownsguard, merchants, artisans or craftsmen. The upper classes devote themselves to finer arts such as astrology or medicine. Some on the outskirts of Fevesto have jobs as tobacco, grape, or corn flour farmers.

Defences

There are three rings of walls within and without Fevesto. All are sun-bleached sandstone. The innermost walls guard the wealthy district of the city, and therefore the walls are decorated with fine mosaics and traditional colourful patterns.

History

Fevesto became the capital of Montevillo following the ascension of the King and Queen. The city was previously a trade city.
