Session 29: From the Tower to the Town

General Summary

Having just rescued Balasar’s father, Viphantez, from the White Citadel, the party was faced with the challenge of escaping. They were confronted with a lot of soldiers but were able to resist them long enough for you to all jump from a hole Emillo made in the wall. While falling, Nydyr had the brilliant idea to use the teleportation stone sent to him by his monastery, to take the whole party to Dio Salam.   Suddenly, the group of 'heroes' found themselves in the desert town of Dio Salam, full of low-to-the-ground sandstone structures and hardworking dwarves. They found a market, bought some things, and met Johan Prospero, a handsome human man, who offered to take everyone to a friend’s house. The group discovered that Johan is very wealthy, but upon visiting his ‘friend’s’ house, gathered that he probably isn’t from the town, and it’s quite likely he’s just brought the gang to a random house. They were visited by the travelling postmen of Sicaro, who gave Moses a letter, which read that his friend Quinn had left the party to reunite with his wife, and his newborn child.    Next, the party went to do a bit more shopping, while Ren confessed his life story to Balasar – he is, in fact, a teenage boy who has been cursed to look like a dragonborn.   The rest of the party visited a medieval Spotlight and bought some fancy fabrics to make into various articles of clothing, including an outfit for Quinn’s baby, some party clothes, and an outfit for Heschbleh, Nydyr’s cat. Speaking of Heschbleh, Max spoke to him and convinced him to be his cat instead. Nydyr was justifiably upset and went on a walk around the town by himself. Weaving his way through the streets, he met an elderly flower-seller who said that his name is Old Man Cosmo. They had a very meaningful exchange, resulting in Nydyr being 144 gold poorer, but two flowers and some life advice richer.   At some point the party also discovered that this town is a bit of a party town during the night, but quite quiet during the day. Also, Johan, the handsome, if slightly awkward, stranger, asked Ekxus to accompany him on a date the following evening.   As the sun went down, the party agreed to head to the monastery in the centre of town, which apparently only appears at night.
