She has a lightly golden ocher complexion with a few freckles on her legs and shoulders. Her dark brown hair is frizzy with tight wiry curls so she often leaves it out as an afro or she sometimes styles her hair into dreadlocks. The hair on her tail has an identical color and texture. Born and raised in a hot humid environment, Kanya is comfortable without wearing any clothes and being nude is relatively common in her home village. However when it is appropriate for special occasions or large groups of people, she wears a popular two piece outfit. It consists of a beige, chest wrap matched with a sarong of the same color wrapped around her waist.

Personal history
Kanya was born in Bodhi Village residing in the Zomia Tropics. Her family consists of her mother and father, along with an older and younger brother. There were also two other siblings born after her but they passed away in infancy.
Kanya had a very light complexion when she was first born. As a precaution, her mother advised her often wear coverings like a leaf hat or stay indoors to help with chores during mid-day.
As such, she was more inclined to hang out with the woodland faye living in their tree than with other homins. The magic done by them encouraged her to practice her own magic and martial arts skills which later encouraged her to join her village's performance group.
In her teen years, she gained a fascination of her tribe's martial and conjurations. She started by making a homebrew version of her by watching village festivals and practicing along with her friend's. Soon she volunteered and joined the other apprentices to learn the fundamentals and advanced techniques to her own.
Growing up with an older brother, gave her an assertive attitude or tomboyish-ness. As an older kid, she hung out with her brother's peers even though they were a few years older than her. As such she started a romantic relationship with one of his friends but ended it after hearing a couple of talks between the guys on how many women they once dated and moved on from. Gradually she got the feeling that he wasn't into the relationship as much as she was, and thus ended it before he could and decided she would not become broken-hearted in her future relationships.
Growing up, one of her idols was the singer Fatima, who was also raised in Bodhi. Kanya would sing covers of her songs to her circle of friends. Whenever Fatima comes to perform in the village, Kanya is the first one to show up or will do almost anything to get there.
