Ancient Sigil of Corruption
The Sigil of Corruption is an artifact created from the Ancient era. It was known as a corrupted Sigil due to its ability to manipulate people's will and summon corrupted Chimera Beasts.
Currently, it was lost in time or destroyed as the legend implied, but there are rumors that the former country of Opprimere found it along with the Sigil technology.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
According to the legends, the Sigil can grant the user the ability to control other people's minds regardless of race. Although, it was also said that it cannot be affected by beings who are also born from the darkness.
It can also create artificial Chimera Beasts based on the user's knowledge of creatures that exist in Core and other worlds such as Pokemon and monsters from Rune Midgard. However, the only limit is that the user must be awake or else, their creation will disappear.
History
(Most of the information comes from the Ancient Arcana legends and reports from Opprimere's former research department. Please take it with a grain of salt.)
According to the legends, there were supposed to have 7 Sigils that were meant to help with the rise of Core's first civilizations. However, one magician grew envious of his colleagues as he couldn't get the same results as them. As a result, he stole the original blueprints of the Sigil, and noticing its potential, he created the Sigil of Corruption not only to control the masses under his fingertips but to create his Chimera Beast creations for the world. Maddened by his new powers, the magician turned into the Devil Sorcerer and used them to conquer all of the civilizations to become its one and only king who would conquer all of the discovered worlds.
To stop the Devil Sorcerer's madness, the Magician of Light and the Demon of Darkness worked together to create the Sigil of Unity, which would counteract the effects of the Corruption and fight back against the sorcerer's creations. This act allowed the creation of the very first Imag-Blade that finally stopped the invasion and defeated the Devil Sorcerer. To ensure that nobody would follow in his footsteps, they destroyed the Sigil and burn the blueprints as a precaution.
In the Arcanum Founding era, however, it revealed that the sorcerer left several scrolls revealing the Sigil's existence, bringing the Opprimere researchers including the Iron Leader, Rigid Glare's attention. The scrolls depicting the Ancient Sigil of Corruption along with the original Sigil blueprints were later used to recreate it including their creation, the Sigil of Oculus. However, before they could recreate the Sigil of Corruption after the success of their previous Sigil, Armand Colby and a small raiding party broke in with evidence of their abuse and soundly defeated the last Iron Leader. Despite their victory, the original Sigil blueprints were taken by the scientists and it is currently unknown if they already started the Sigil of Corruption or not.
Significance
Despite being the object seemingly made for the Ancient Arcana legends, this Sigil was living proof that the technology itself might be dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands. Some historians theorized that just like the concept of darkness, the Sigils would become dangerous weapons corrupted by the user's greed, envy, and their dark desires to rule all worlds, concluding that it would be better if nobody could recreate it.
