Avarai, The Greed

Avarai is the counterpart to Renova. He is the false demigod of Indulgence and Pacifism.

History

Avarai was a King of Kaeoma, exploiting the people he ruled. Throughout his rein, he tried to remain in peace with Western Arcasai by paying them portions of his amassed wealth. After the War Of Flames, his greed became overwhelming and he demanded to be made a god. The entire Mage Council was called on to help him Ascend. Upon becoming a demigod, Feliss, Goddess of Luck was outraged, and cast him into the Abyss. He managed to escape into the Nine Hells, but was not able to ascend further. There, Avarai has far less influence with the Material Plane, and must make deals with mortals to excise any control.

Demigodhood

Despite not being a true demigod, Avarai still enjoys the benefits of worship. Many mortals are unaware that he was banished to the Abyss and so treat him as a true, but aloof, demigod. Temples such as The Lustrous Temple Of Indoul are some of the most luxurious buildings in the cities they are built in. Unlike the other demigods, Avarai rarely appears before his worshippers due to his banishment.

Followers

Most of Avarai's followers are the rich and the hopeful. They hope that by offering precious items to Avarai, they will gain more in return. Unfortunately, Avarai lacks the compassion to grant these wishes, enjoying his splendour in secret.
