Eschenholz Fieldgun

"Remember, the cooler the reload the more damage the bullet."

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Eschenholz rifle is a gun within the lever-action repeater class. It's built from wood and steel with a stock to stabilize the rifle and a long barrel attached which was cast for medium to long range combat. The weapon itself needs to be manually reloaded by pressing down cartridges into a slot. The cocking mechanism, being a lever attached around the trigger will chamber a new cartridge into the gun, whenever the lever is pulled. Thus, swift action on the lever could allow the user to fire automatically, if swift enough.

History

The lever action rifle is a relatively new invention. It was developed from a pool of ingenuinity and inspired research when the revolver first came. Just like how this firearm outdates the flintlock, the rifle was a suggestion for updating the musket. The result was a vast variety of different firearms, created across the world. The lever action became the signmark of Dyskhari culture though, for the sole reason that chambering the gun while spinning it around was cool.

Significance

The Eschenholz carries cultural significance among the Dyskhar, in the sense that their more Imperialistic forces close to the crown are all armed with the rifle as a standard weapon. It's relative simplicity and having the parts be mass produced within their factories makes it a reliable choice of military rifle, which is both easy to use and has an effective stopping power.
