Giga-crab

The giga-crab is one creature which sounds far more deadly than it actually is. This creature is common to find along the shores and while quite aggressive should anyone approach too close, is still not that much of a threat to anyone with an appropriate weapon. Though as it is rather slow and walks clumsy on the side like any other crab, it is quite easy to outrun. Shortblades and most swords wouldn't cut through the hard plating, which is their one trick pony advantage. Weapons such as heavier blades, hammers, axes and guns can easily pierce through this creature though.
Due to its vast size, standing around the same height and width as a boar, this crab is known for its succulent meat. As there is no shortage of them roaming close to the coast within the seas, they are often hunted as a good source of ingredients to certain southern delicacy dishes.
Its instinctual intelligence is little to brag about as well. Its inability to perceive most reality around it causes this crab to zealously snap for the first potential threat it sees. Hence, they are often caught by pirates and unleashed as living shields during landing strikes. They are also utilised by the Glóin and other Abyssal Lords as cannon fodder, though often still granted different corruptive abilities to make them more useful in actual combat.
