Hysteria
The hunter moved with sure steps within the depths of the woods. His rifle hoisted steady against his shoulder as he crept after his prey. Near the lake. Too close to the lake as he now set his sky blue eyes onto the bubbling pool. He took aim, closing one eye as he suddenly felt a cold ripple against his spine. He tried to squeeze down the trigger halfway though his finger would not budge.
Ahead of him, from the bubbling pool, a maiden with the head of a squid with hair consisting of tendrils crossed through the gentle waves. Her body mostly covered in a green dress, with visible legs both covered by four tentacles each.
The hunter snapped out of his stupor of gazing into her sorrowful eyes. Firing his rifle only for the woman to shift out of the bullet's traction. Now right in front of him she stood. His arms and legs held in place, each limb strangled down by two of the octopus arms as the tendrils of her head rose to his face with large spikes growing out of their ends.
The screams of the Occult Hunter would haunt the woods, as she stabbed into his eyes, throat and chest. Over. And over. And over. And…
Anatomy
The Glôhndyr has a mostly humanoid core bone and muscle anatomy, though purely female with no male counterparts of their species. They average on two meters tall with slim and dainty figures, which lack many core human organs to function. They completely lack both lungs and hearts, with their squidlike heads carrying a large brain that keeps them alive through constant eldritch pulses across their bodies. Successfully making them immortal for as long as they have flesh to feast on.
The tentacles around their legs are also attached right by their waists, above the hip bones where they fuse to the humanoid flesh, though with neural links to their spinal cortex which allows them to use each tentacle like an extra limb.
To use all their squid-like features, they carry four different brain halves. One quarter for mobility of humanoid limbs and another two for their tentacles and tendrils.
Behaviour
As one of a few rare Glôh'krakh creatures possessive of souls, the Glôhndyr possess at least some manner of free will and can be dangerously incalculable in their actions. Their intelligence rivals and might even outmatch the human psyche and their insanity knows no boundaries.
From the less than a hundred cases of accurate retellings of surviving a Glôhndyr altercation, each and every individual reports that the creature seems docile at first before any sentient creature catches their glare. Where they avoid animals and critters, humanoids they lash out against in a type of hysteria driven sorrow. Often leaving the corpses brutalized beyond recognition.
Weakness
Possessing but a few weaknesses, the one jarring one of the Glôhndyr is their vulnerability to air during long exposure. Only ever being able to stay out of the waters for a few hours before their skin starts to wither and eventually crack like petrified.
