Knights of High Court
Structure
The knights can be described as an order of privileged noble brats. They roam the human civilizations, except Diestria as it’s way to dangerous for them, on unfair hunts to bring... justice to the lands, somehow.
They serve directly underneath the new High Praefectus and bring his corrupt hand outstretched all over the kingdoms.
Culture
The Knights are supposed to hold up their old culture of dignity, faith and brotherhood. Nowadays it’s fallen into something lesser, as most of the current nobles have strayed far from their once noble path. Knighthood nowadays is all about swooning ladies, riding high horses and gossiping way too much.
Public Agenda
Their public agenda however, very much states that they are a form of old law keepers. Heroes that many dislike and raise the question of, why hasn’t the order been abolished yet.
Their old agenda that is still very much in usage however, state that they are fearless noble and chaste protectors of all that is holy, similar to the Crusade of Ysand, yet with a big twist.
The Knights of high Court directly challenge lower nobles and legal members of guilds, organizations and even village elders to trial of combat, if they have evidence of illegal activities form their side.
They also work as bounty hunters, to bring runaways into court.
Assets
It doesn’t make things better that these teenage minded bounty hunting morons ride pegasi, being one of the most rare breeds of horse in the world. With the sharpest and finest of runic steel, armour and almost complete immunity from the law themselves, and free passes for about anything that costs money, they stand as some of the most entitled people on the planet, so much that even the elves frown on them.
Then, they also have their little keep on the western isles of the Common Lands, often referred to as the playhouse. It doesn’t make it better that the chapple is both a school for them to learn their craft, and their headquarters.
History
The knights wasn’t always like this. Just a hundred years ago, they were everything they stated to be, and more. Noble, fearless heroes who brought their blades to the hearts of corruption.
Their origins come from the war of humans and elves, when almost the entire Common lands were set in chaos. Their purpose was to link all of the human civilizations together, underneath one common banner for alliance and laws.
Thus, some of the strongest, most clever and orderly men were sent from every major empire, to form the order that came to bring fear into the sinners.
Justice, duty and brotherhood. Whatever that means.
