Welcome to the City of Mists. Now, how can I be of service?
-Misthaven Custodian
The City of Mists
Misthaven is the regional Capital of Naglovia and the wall which surrounds its seat of power. It’s known to be the sole city in all of the marshland regions which has a proper system of
law and order to secure its walls both within and outside. The Blackmarsh being one dubious exception to this rule.
The city itself consists of four different districts, which all have a vast array of different
functions.
The
Drylanders District is known as the outsider regions where all people non-Dyskhari reside with the likes of the criminal underworld and other shady residents. It is no wonder why most buildings here are poorly maintained and the streets often flooded with water fromthe nearby swamps. The very name itself is one of xenophobic origin and most Dyskhari that consider themselves fair or decent citizens, will stay away from this ghetto.
The
Steamers District is the one dedicated to engineering, blacksmithing and alchemy. It’s well known to be the darkest of all districts, due to the copious amounts of smog being pumped out into the air. As churning cogs and pipes of steam constantly sound here.
The
Culture Quarter is the district known for some beauty and no shortage of restaurants, café’s and the location of a couple museums, libraries and other attractions. It is the newest district of the four as made from the ground up, rather than repurposed from its past fortifications.
The
Steel Quarter is the largest district, which happens to be square rather than circle shaped, due to the vast size of its facilities. It is also the military quarter, hosting the barracks, weapons and also the headquarters of the local guardforce.
History
The city once used to be home to a large criminal force that left lingering remnants from the Eel’s assault on Naglovia.
With the chemborg gone, the bandits left proved little issues to fend off against the new Crocodiles amassed forces of horror and despair. Completely destroying one fourth of the circular makeshift city on her way to conquer the Temple of the Dragon. With the bandits killed or enslaved. It has been rebuilt and modernised.
