The Three-headed Hydra
No, this story is not about the creature you think it is. This living myth is based around the three legendary brothers of the Wurmholz family who shook the entire world. Standing side by side as comrades in arms through one of the most brutal and dark moments of the Dyskhari Imperium's history, they managed to lead their Household away from a fate of destruction and tragedy into an age of glory and purpose.
Summary
It all started with the Dyskhari union with the Abyssal Lords. The war which followed where Morkadia was engulfed in chaos, Diestria sundered and many of the northern Elven lands conquered. Before the war broke out fully, the Sylvhar elves had set a puppet Empress on the throne of the House of Spiders. Unwittingly to the Sylvhar and Dyskhar, this woman was a witch in liege with the Patriarch from the House of Shadows.
The Dyskhari puppet empire soon spread a silent influence through the Elven lands, Diestria and even as far out as Westport. Through cults and dominated demonic hosts, they slowly awoke ancient horrors slumbering. Unleashed countless terrors into the world, before eventually going on an all out attack to attempt and conquer the entire Commonland.
Though they were many to stand against the tide, one of the most vital legends to have risen up in the fight against the House of Shadows were the three brothers Wurmholz, of the House of Serpents.
As their great Household was condemned as traitors by the new Empress, due to the father uncovering heir vile scheme to surrender the Imperium to the dark gods, the man was persecuted by Sylvhar agents who found him a threat of revolting. The man was promptly sentenced to execution and murdered within his own estate, while the rest of the household was either subjugated or killed for treason. Leaving him with only the legacy of his three sons.
They say to cut the head of the snake, believing us to be poisonous and deceptive liars. No, we are serpents as noble as the dragon on our crest! Do not percieve everything as immediate and take a moment to quietly think through deeper meanings of symbolism every now and then. You might find far more answers than you thought yourself able to consieve. - Cenwyn WurmholzAfter the estate burnt down to the ground, the three sons each learned of the crimes which had taken place. The oldest, an officer within the army, the youngest being a freelance poet with a future drowning in drinks and women, and the middle child being a protigy in magic were all hunted through the lands. Combined with the youngest brothers skills at escaping through the bedside window, the middle ones competence in blowing everything up into a fiery mess, and the oldest at leading forces, they all managed to escaped the Imperium alone and were taken into exile within in Barrkad, by the Barrkadi Circle's agents. Within their stay at the Golden Dunes citystate, the three brothers started to quarrel like they always had, before eventually settling their differences to take sight for the Imperium again. By utilizing their different skills together, the three would hide in plain sight while performing crimes, saboutage and assassinations of cultist politicans to halt the House of Shadows and House of Spiders operations. All while they gathered support, resources and the mynt needed to eventually hire a mercenary army. As they carried on creating contacts with old members of the house, freed more of the captives and reformed their house in secrecy among the criminal underworld, they'd eventually make contact with two other houses. The house of the Bear and the House of Crows. The prior who fought against the corruption spread by hiding in the woods, while the other remained in their secure bastion among the Crows Mountain. The lost and lonely Ophelia Duskblade and her half-sister Amelia ended up battling Aegelric and Goldbert Hagglewire as the man had hired the raiders to robb and destroy convoy's that could supply the Dyskhari warmachines with weapons. Amelia, better known as the Raven, was swiftly outplayed by the quickwitted man who took her captive to press Ophelia to surrender her arms and siege weapons to his brother Freomund. The plan didn't go too well as Ophelia kicked his ass and had him tied upside down within an old barn. Naturally, Cenwyn and Freomund though annoyed by their little brother's antics and lack of proper planning still charged into rescue him. Leading to a stand-off with the two sisters. Though Cenwyn was aptly smacked over the head by a pommel and fell feint, the skilled Freomund managed to take on both Ophelia and her Sister alone through breaking his limits due to the oath he swore to his father, to ensure his younger brothers made it out alive. Once the fight was over, the man sought to interrogate the sisters only to realize they had never been the enemy. Spurred against one another to kill two birds with one lie, the Spider had purposefully had one of he double agents whisper the wrong information into Aegelric's ears. Those weapon transports went to the Golden Empire, established by rich barons that were friends to their prince, as well as an ally against the Abyssal Lords.
Never underestimate the idiot, we might just surprise you! - Aegelric WurmholzHaving regrouped and searched out a village tied to the House of the Bear as to attend their wounds, the Bear herself sought out these two peculiar groups. Having had most of her woods cut down to fuel a warmachine which conquered the Sylvhar farmlands south, the woman had a plan to conquer these now both Dyskhari and Sylvhari lands underneath her own domain, to put up a bastion for both the long rivaling groups of elves to serve as a wall and political pressure point against both north and south. As conquering this land would mean a great blow dealt to the House of Spiders supply of food to the frontlines against the Golden Empire, as well as allies flanking both sides of their own House's old territory, the three brothers prepared for war. Storming the tower of Draghânir the three brothers secured destructive magical powers for Cenwyn to blackmail the gatetown between the Hearthlands and occupied souther lands with. With a well played threat written by his younger brother, the man managed to make the entire bastion capitulate without shedding any blood. An officer of the Bear then swiftly occupied the passage, while the forces of the House of Serpents reclaimed their old lands. This battle marked the turning point within the entire war against the corruption of the Abyssals. Claiming their steppe back from the House of Spiders and Shadows, they now had a wall formed which allowed both the Sylvhar and humans of the Golden Dunes to fight back and reconquer their occupied territories. Though it didn't take long untill they were faced with an army thrice their size, which aimed to make a swift end to the brothers. A grim misstake, as they ended up fighting all three of the Wurmholz legacy at the same time. Resulting in the catastrophic battle of Reiter's Hills where the swift cavalary units of the House won crushing battles, one to ten, by shooting from ranged positions and escaping through the hills by bottleneck to bottleneck until eventually an opening was made for Freomund to take a small party of riders and attack the Spider's noble encampment. Where he managed to successfully dispatch the witch with a well landed javelin throw.
And so falls one tyrant, only for another to take it's place. We march on though as this merely marks the victory of one battle. I will not rest not celebrate an end to this madness, untill the last battle's rage is over. Then, we can all beggin the process of healing. - Freomund Wurmholz
