The Tidebreaker

"It just... Sunk? No corpses, no evidence of struggle... Just, went beneath the tides. With a crew of a hundered men, and atleast fifty slaves!? You're kidding me, right. Right?!"   -Dark elven slavemaster.

Power Generation

The runic engines inside the machinery of the Tidebreaker are ran by a combination of coal shuffled into the furnace, to boil water. The steam then fuels pneumatic levers and cogs that move the oars in motion. The oars themselves absorb the mystical energies inside the waters and slowly fuel up the Whymníum batteries that run the propellant.

Propulsion

This propellant is the main source behind the swift speed and a quick acceleration to the submarines systems. Its normally faster than most ships already, with the oars that allows it to silently move underneath the surface, but the little runic power it harnesses often comes in really handy during swift attacks.

Weapons & Armament

The vessel carries no cannons nor explosives, which is unique for a modern ship designed for war. In its stead, the Tidebreaker carries the terrifying, hookfiring harpoons on it’s second floor. The weapons, sound covered by the dampening waters, can fire up to fifty harpoons on each side, that locks vessels down and reel them in with steel chains. The first attack is then narrowly followed by a merciless barrage of five to ten metallic cylinders that are released from a siege mechanisms on the lower floor.   The cylinders, being big enough to harbour a single straight postured man, functions like a straight moving ram. It’s head smashes into the enemy ship’s hull and allows the manpower within to open the metal doors that keep the water out, and then go wild with hacking an entrance right through the enemy walls.

Armor and defense

This strategy is however the vessels biggest weakness as well, considering modern technology still lacks the means to properly deal with the plated behemoth underneath the water. That contributes to the potential risk that a hostile crew can’t be defeated before a possible fleet understand something is wrong and goes to aid with numbers and soldiers that the Tidebreakers privateers are incapable of beating, leaving the opponents chance to take over the ship, or risking too much water to stream in through the entrances.   In defence to this, the ship carries several strategic bottlenecks inside, so that the crew can set up traps and ambushes to deal with better geared, more experienced and even outnumbering counterstrikes. The ship also has several hatches and corners filled with buckets to empty water out, once the battle is done and the ship is far away and safe.

Communication Tools & Systems

To communicate with other ships and the mainland, the Tidebreak has an aviary in its top floor. Here they harbour and utilize the usage of Black eagles to deliver messages and even to fish for the people on the vessel, if a worst case food scenario would break out.

Sensors

As for sensors to hunt the slave ship prey, the Leviathan Slayer utilizes a massive glass frame, able to handle the depths pressure and attacks of various massive sea monsters. Besides this, a control panel is linked to a runic echolocation system. It works by having the blue runes send out a soundwave that picks up signals of movement, that causes the inactive runes on the control panel to blip blue in the direction the moving targets are located at.

Mission

The ship was made specially for one purpose, and one purpose only. To rescue slaves. It has become a phenomenon that, whenever the dreaded hooks pierce the walls, captives are renewed in joy and hope, as the Vanhal family soon blasts through the very depths to liberate them.

Depth

Due to the current technology and engineering craft, the vessel which is already a wonder that it works in the first place, is unable to descend more than a kilometer underneath the surface. A weird action was made due to this and involved painting the plates dark blue, to make it harder to spot.
