Werewolf

"Some say that the werewolf is the most common and basic of all beastkin. I say they should shut up and only speak when they have an inkling of an idea of what their mouths are spouting."   -Witch Hunter investigating the remains of an entire military battalion which fell to the beast.
When one thinks of beastkin, the notorious wolfman is the usual suspect which comes to most folks' minds. Sometimes this creature is so widely renowned that it is considered a basic sort of beastkin which is rare to run into as they are easily handled. This couldn't be farther from the truth as they mistake the werewolf for lycanthropes. Whereas the lycan is a wolfish man with increased senses and strength, the werewolf is an entirely different monstrosity.   For one, the werewolf does not hunt with silly weapons and armour as lycanthropes do, even though they intellectually and morphologically would be able too. Why bother with a sword when your hand itself is five razor sharp daggers attached to an organic buckler able to punch through steel doors like a knife carves through cheese. They are also able to leap fifteen metres up into the air, fall from a hundred metres height without suffering serious injuries, capable of running on all four in near perfect stealth and on top of it smell and hear their prey to a distance of kilometres rather than a couple hundred metres.   As if it didn't end there, the werewolf regenerates it's wounded tissue by the second and the virus which at first contaminated the monstrosity is capable of cleaning out and pushing out any poison, dirt or other molecules that could infect any wounds it suffer - should a blade, arrow, bullet or bolt even pierce the near steel hard leather and dampening fur. Only silver or pure sunlight is known to negatively affect this virus which may prevent regeneration. Though wolfsbane is the true bane of the werekin, as able to directly assault and kill the virus than block it.   This virus, known as the wolf's curse, can be gained through various means. It is something wolves naturally carry though have dormant within them unless magically awakened into Mystbeast. If bit by a mystbeast alpha during a full moon, one has a seventy percent chance to catch the virus. Which can still be treated with wolfsbane before the next full moon, without suffering complications.   If one undergoes the Animo-Ex-Taurus rite with an alpha during full moon though, it has a guaranteed chance to either kill or turn the infused subject into a werewolf. The other option is to be bit and survive a werewolf attack during a full moon. A feat easier than one might believe, as the virus seeks to reproduce and thus makes sure to spare the victim.   In cases of people infected by a werewolf outside of the full moon, the result is a permanent state of lycanthropy rather than turning into a full wolfman. Also known as the most deadly and savage of all beastkin out there.
