The Tale of Xit'lan Olmil

Intro

Having left his home in the Teotlalli Confederacy before the Unification War, Xit'lan Olmil has tried to make his own mark on society. Like all young Couatlborn children of the ruling clans, Xit'lan (now going by Gilbert O'Sullivan) was cut off from the family fortune until it can be inherited; Couatlborn parents hope that not having access to the clan resources will instil a grand work ethic in their numerous children.

The eldest of the Olmil clan, and Gilbert's uncle, Apachu Olmil, is ailing. Not having sired any children, Apachu's wealth is to be distributed amongst his numerous neices and nephews. While in Pheonix, Gilbert recieved a very urgent message that his dear uncle Apachu might not make it through the month...the race to get back to the Olmil homestead in Reno is on.

Returning Home

The day Gilbert returns home is a joyous occasion. his family hasn't seen him in almost 10 years! After the party makes their way to the Olmil mansion, they are greeted by Gilberts two younger cousins: Zeekal and Zaltal Olmil. Gilbert and his cousins exchanged their usual barbs and passive-aggressive insults as Gilbert introduced his "entourage". The cousins were none-too-pleased about the visitors, though Couatlborn customs dictate warm hospitality towards guests. The part was allowed to feast on hors d'oeuvres in the waiting room as Gilbert and his cousins made their way to the bedroom of Uncle Apachu, where his parents and relatives waited.   Upon greeting his mother, he was told to immediately change out of his travelers clothes and attend a dinner, however the party must eat downstairs with the servents. The dinner party was glorious; family members from all branches of the Olmil clan gathered and ate the 8 course meal, and indulged in traditional liqours. While his mother got increasingly more intoxicated, and the others stuffed themselves to the brim with excellent food, the time had come: Uncle Apachu was gone, and his will needed to be read. All of the cousins gathered together in the bedroom as they waited with a tempered excitment to get their long-awaited inheritance. However, they did not see Uncle Apachu...or a will. They were met with a familiar face, one with a large, white mustache, a tall top hat and two previously-fancy jackets   [container:]

The River King

Tomas Henri Toussiant Jesop was the one who greeted the family. The cousins were confused, but Gilbert greeted his parter with a warm hello. However, this time was different. The air still and dark, Jesop revealed his true nature as the Demon of Gluttony. He began devouring anything that moved (including 4 of the Olmil cousins standing near him), which included multiple family heirlooms. This included the Olmil Family Sword, a handful of vases that were formed in the infant days of the Olmil clan, seven paintings by Uncle Apachu himself, and the entire inheritance that was to be distributed amongst his heirs. Gilbert, however, was ready: he drank a concoction that he had brewed up before going upstairs; a potion of Gaseous Form, allowing him to become a gas and escape...however he was stuck like this until the potion's duration was over (1 hour).   The part, in the basement, heard the destruction upstairs, and decided to investigate when Abernathy noticed that one of the names in their book was glowing extremely brightly. They rushed to Gilbert's side(?).
