Bastion of Dreams

Written and designed by Kyle H   At the edge of Scorch Alley and Whispermoor, the Bastion of Dreams stands intersecting the large cliff face near Bullion Falls. Less of a fortress and more of a city stuffed into a single building, the sandstone citadel serves as a college, market, theater, and place of residence. A canal adjacent to Bullion Falls was carved and constructed into a water lock to encourage commerce and serves as a major source of income. The Bastion of Dreams was created by Wizn’t and Balasar. The cube-shaped building is 400 ft in each dimension.

Rooms

Rooms are available for both NPCs and PCs, and for both personal use and for business. Each member (player character) of the Inkpot Gods is provided with a 30ft x 35ft chamber for personal, non-commercial use. Larger spaces are available for rent. Contact @KyleHerndon on discord for inquiries. A list of specified tenants can be found here.   The sixth to twentieth floors are residential. The fifth floor is for community activities, and contains a gym, chapel, library, lounge, and many rooms for meetings or classes. The fourth and third floor contain rooms for permanently established businesses, organizations, and store fronts. The second floor is for non-permanent storefronts and booths for use by wandering traders and the like. The first floor is composed mostly of a grand dining hall and two kitchens, in addition to a lot of storage. There are also some built-in defensive structures and barracks on the first and second floors. Similarly, there is a theater that can be put up or taken down, with seating on the first and second floors. There is also a basement with copious storage and a few prison cells. Four stairwells and an elevator span the height of every floor.

Plant Growth Domes

Four domes of 100ft radius surround the city, serving to optimize the potential agricultural output of the spell plant growth, and serves to feed the city which otherwise would have relatively terrible agricultural outputs from its yield. One of the domes was destroyed by a spontaneously summoned pyramid of a mummy lord, which is now where some Adventure Field Training classes occur.

Water Lock

A series of 10 locks allows boats to non-magically traverse both up and down Scorch River into Smokewhistle Mountains or out into the ocean. Each lock can move up to 3 galleys simultaneously up or down 20ft. The lock is constructed as a canal parallel to the river at the point of the waterfall. Each lock has a side pond to reduce water usage and expedite lock processing times.

Layout

(Note:This is from when there were 5 lock sections expecting a 100ft cliff face. Just repeat the pattern and have the entire thing embedded in the cliff face)

Floor 5 - Community Rooms and Classrooms

(Note, the center across all floors is intended to eventually be an elevator shaft, but until I convince some artificers (like maybe the ones from The Lift) it is just a large vertical shaft)
