When you cast a non-cantrip spell of 5th level or lower using a spell slot, you may choose to empower it, treating its effects as if the slot were one level higher. You can use this property once. You can spend an action to attempt a DC 14 Arcana check. On a success, you regain use of this property. Otherwise, you instead regain its use after you complete your next short rest, and can't attempt the check again until then.
Spell Focus. The wand can be used as a spellcastingfocus for arcane and divine magic, but this isn't necessary to use its effect; it just needs to be on your person.
