Announcement and Instructions

Winter has come to Earth and Archestria alike, and with it, the seasonal tradition of gift-giving! It's unlikely us California-dwellers are constructing snowmen, so we'll exercise our creativity by designing magic items for each other's characters!
To participate, fill out the form here before Tuesday, Dec 5th. Rules:

You can opt in up to two characters to receive gifts.

Names will be randomized, and each player will have one recipient per character they opted in. You will not get one of your characters.

You will design a common magic item for your recipient(s):

• The item should have little or no combat utility and should not make the character stronger, but instead provide a fun effect they can roleplay with. It can provide benefits in non-combat situations.
• Check out the common magic items in Xanathar's Guide to Everything (pg 136) for examples. Your items should qualify as common rarity.
• Allowing the character to cast a non-combat cantrip 3 times per long rest is a good baseline for item effectiveness.
• The item should be simple enough that if it were given a price, a commoner might be able to (1) buy it and (2) have use for it.
• The item should not be consumable or have a self-destruct feature.
• I will review all items and may suggest changes before it is sent.
