Labyrinth - Faerzress and the Capsule

Text

I think I see why Auyawa led us to the underground. There’s a curious magical miasma prevalent here which shields the region against teleportation and planar travel, as well as divination. This means that we don’t have to live in fear of a portal to hell opening within our home, and devils won’t be able to spy on us so easily. This does mean we must contend with our own restrictions of such magic, darkness, and enclosed spaces. I do feel that this is worth the cost, unfortunately, and there’s the added benefit that we no longer need to concern ourselves with the depravity of the Ghaztiwoil empire.
I sincerely hope that the fiend menace is eventually overcome in some capacity that allows our grandchildren to see the surface world again. I also hope that Lord Phiramet and his nation of slavers are demolished in the process.
The black capsules we recovered from that strange metal hut have an unusual and impressive power: to manipulate time itself. I don’t know what the ancients used them for, but we intend to use them for our survival. We’re going to try to build something we’re calling the Capsule. If successful, it should allow us to survive the apocalypse, even if our society is destroyed.
