I believe the Mazefolk built their Labyrinth to protect themselves from monsters that were chasing them, particularly fiends. They felt safe in these long, dark halls, and left countless traps to keep them out.
It appears they failed, however- all of their citadels appear to be abandoned. They did not have the same advantages we did: less information, less skill in battle, and of course, a great dragon to fight beside. We are equipped to win, and we will.
A theory has been circulating from survivors of Parvik’s last stand: that our enemies might be the enemies of our enemies. Demons and devils both both have an insatiable desire to eradicate us and claim our souls, yet they do not get along with each other. Their competition with one another might just be the heel we’re looking for.
Who better to test a potentially world-saving theory than I? It’s just a matter of pulling the right foes into the same place at the same time, shouldn’t be hard at all…
