The Labyrinth’s construction was long and difficult, but it was necessary. The brilliant traps, challenges, and diversions have worked wonders in keeping the demons out. The faerzress miasma makes teleportation down here inconsistent, which appears to prevent the bastards from portaling their way in.

It’s not perfect, though. Even with nearly all of our people devoted to either defense or construction, even with the complexity of the great maze, it’s still possible for demons to find their way in. Auyawa and the experts are brainstorming other possibilities. Apparently, they found something really strange deep in the central dark: a metal hut with a singular chair. Sitting in it and interacting with its red-crystal scepter projected a vision of the past. They believe this hut involves some kind of time-traveling magic, if such a thing could be possible. They’re currently dismantling and studying it in the hopes of a useful breakthrough.

My fingers are crossed, but for now I will continue to explore. I find a sort of comfort in walking through the Labyrinth, understanding safe escape paths should the demons make their way in. The illusions were a good touch, though I suspect the numbers will reveal their position to more savvy monsters.
