The day after Prince Theodore's 200th birthday, King Arnest steps down to allow his firstborn son to rule.
Although Arnest was less than 500 years old, he had grown tired of his rule and had been planning this move for some time. Sofia, although unhappy with her new position as Queen Emeritus, nevertheless respects Arnest's decision to abdicate the throne in favor of his son. The emeritus King and Queen lived out the rest of their days in separate castles in the Escherian countryside.
