Ranged Weapons

These weapons are designed to shoot at a distance equal to your Ranged attribute by default. Certain one-handed melee weapons may also be thrown.

Sling

1-handed, 1 aquill x quality
Damage: Strength
Special: This can lob potions at a distance, but no damage is done besides any effect the potion does.  

Shortbow

2-handed, 10 aquills x quality
Damage: Strength plus the amount you beat the target’s defense by.
Special:  

Longbow

2-handed, 15 aquills x quality
Damage: Twice your Strength.
Special: This can fire 1 zone beyond your Range.  

Light Crossbow

2-handed, 10 aquills x quality
Damage: Four times your Strength.
Special: This requires one action with both hands to reload. If reloaded by someone other than you, use their Strength.  

Heavy Crossbow

2-handed, 15 aquills x quality
Damage: Twice your Strength plus twice your Muscle Skill plus 2.
Special: This requires one action with both hands to reload. If reloaded by someone other than you, use their Strength.  

Alchemist’s Ballista

2-handed, 20 aquills x quality
Damage: Twice your Strength
Special: This is a crossbow specifically designed to lob potions at enemies, though it can fire rocks as a last resort. The force of the potion hitting the target does the damage listed in the damage section, but its main purpose is to accurately launch potions far away. As with all crossbows, it takes 1 turn to reload. If reloaded by someone other than you, use their Strength.  

Reloading Mechanism

This is not a weapon but a tool for reloading crossbows, such as a lever or windlass. It takes an extra turn to load such a bow, but the leverage the tool grants you means you can use the lever’s quality in place of your Physial Power and Muscle skill ratings for all purposes.  

Blowgun

2-handed, 1 aquill x quality
Damage: 0
Special: This fires poisoned darts and is the quietest of all ranged weapons.
