Cottus

Cottus, a breast feared by all. The mighty creature that will send chills down the spines of even Giants. Standing 46 feet tall on all fours, this bear like hell hound has not one, but two heads. Stories say his teeth are as sharp as a freshly sharpened blade although none have survived to tell the tale. Entire squads of Goliath hunters have gone missing, thought to be devoured by Cottus himself.

Summary

Cottus, being the mighty hound he is, has the face of a wolf with a bite strength that could crush an anvil without a problem. Having the snout of a wolf also makes for having an extremely useful tracking technique, so despite not seeing Cottus in the vast tundra of Garoth, a traveler can never be sure that he isn't already on their tracks. With the body of a bear he is fully capable of standing on his kind legs, making him stand at about 80 feet tall. Not only that he has the ears, eyes, and front legs of a bobcat, therefore causing his front paws wield deadly claws. Not only that but his ears and eyes can be used to easily detect anything around him, so whatever sees him can guarantee that Cottus is already aware of their presence.

Historical Basis

Although only a few survivors claim to live to tell the tale of Cottus, it is thought to actually exist. Being this unstoppable hybrid of apex predators, Cottus is able to use all of the combined senses of each animal, making just about every sense extremely hyperactive. Goliath's are known for being some of the most intimidating and powerful creatures of the known world, but Cottus is fully capable of sending each and every one of them running in the other direction. Fully able to swallow a giant whole, he has dominated the tundra of Garoth for centuries.
