Mediators are a group of individuals who either innately or through training have the ability to stay calm and also calm those around them. Their sheer presence allows two parties to calmly discuss their situation and come to a solution without emotional outbursts or the consequences of wild magic.

There are two ways of recruiting new mediators. Kids who show propensity and talent at a young age are sent to training schools to learn the rules and develop their skills. Or those who wish to try go to school to learn it will attempt to pass the rigorous training. Few who choose to train are likely to pass if they didn't show any signs as a child.
