New Years/Festival of the Gods

The New Year is rung in by a multiday festival celebrating the gods. There are feasts, work is put down and revelries are held. Depending on where on the continent the festivities vary. On the Skeleton Coast, for example, Leonin Prides gather, build giant bonfires and eat some special dried meats and mushrooms Prepared throughout the year just for this festival. There is also a special brew drank together by those who have wandered apart. Families are often reunited at thus festival. Those who have come of age in the last year may see their folks for the first time in a while if they left to join another pride. Stories are told, bones are gathered and carved and the gods are remembered.

This celebration is the only time the Flamestrand Markets are quiet. All the sweets, candles, cakes and incense has been bartered, bought and sold already and the stalls packed up and the people are with their loved ones celebrating. Each of the festival dates starts with a dawn ritual followed by a breakfast feast followed by dancing.
