Dune Casters
Dune Casters is the name given to the people who worship the sand and the land movers in the Deprin Dunes. These people are often Yalvake, but instances of other races joining the group are not uncommon. The group itself tends to stay as a tight nit tribe with most people in the tribe not leaving until they die.
Magical Powers
Although their power is not directly holy Dune Casters have a large amount of magical power over the dunes themselves. There are rumors of some talented Dune Casters being able to summon or ward off Land Movers. This practice of manipulating Land Movers is looked down upon fiercely amongst the casters. The power of controlling the sand and dunes develops as the people believe and pray more to the sand and dunes. The powers that the Dune Caster have are relatively straightforward with their main ability being the power to control the sand and move it. A prayer often accompanies this movement. Casters that are more proficient can traverse the sand on planks of wood at insane speeds and burrow themselves under the sand for hours on end.Religious Beliefs
The Dune Casters have several tenants of their religion- The Sand and Dunes choose people to gain holy power over them
- The power of dune and sand can be given and taken as the sand pleases
- The Land Movers are a divine message of hate or warning and must be headed
- The creation of sturctures atop the sand is blasfemous
- One must feel the power of the sand and all of its divine essence
Relation to Yalvake
The Dune Casters often have a advisorial relationship to the Yalvake with the Caster believing the Yalvake are unenlightened and beneath them whilst the Yalvake think the Dune Casters are freaks and fanatical. This relationship hardly ever leads to violence though since the resources required by both sides would be too high to warrant battle. Often they never make contact with each other due to the large expanse the Deprin Dunes comprises.
