Personal history

Altoryn was an orphaned child who was taken in by the Master Artificer Olivynn. She rose him both as son and research assistant up until the age 14 when Olivynn died in a mysterious lab fire while Altoryn was out gathering reagents. Authorities assumed the fire was caused by the experiments she was working on but Altoryn assumes some sort of foul play because she would never make such a crucial mistake. By age 22, he formed the Olivynn School for the GIfted in her memory where he took in street children and taught them alchemy, engineering, and other skills. In its first year he had a bit of a bad reputation because he poorly explained why he was taking so many children into his house but as time went on the school became a shining pillar in the community. He now is on sabbatical as he leaves the school in the hands of Grafword his assistant and first ever graduate of the school. During this sabbatical he looks to secure more funds to expand the school as well as have some free time for more research.
