Omniphalos
Known to humans as Sagittarius A*, Omniphalos is a gargantuan black hole that lies at the approximate center of the Orranysis galaxy. At several billion standard stellar masses, Omniphalos provides the central gravitational force of a wildly complex and volatile star system, composed of some twenty stars of varying size, age, and stellar class. The singularity spews out radiation of every kind in truly terrifying quantities, and so the region immediately surrounding the Omniphalos system is completely untraversable by all except the people of Xalnr.
Despite its intense lethality to almost every known form of life, Omniphalos is used as the common referential center point of galactic cartography due to its convenient location at the heart of the galactic core. This is where its name arises from: it is, for the purposes of galactic civilization, the "central axis of the universe."
