Al-Andalusian
The faithful people of deserts and mountains
The Al-Andalusians are the reverent and hardy peoples who live in the cities and nomadic groups that populate Al-Andalus and the adjoining Al-Andalus Mountain Range. Hailing from mountains, plains, and deserts, they are a resilient and stalwart peoples who make a living from a generally lean land. For many, their denotation is shortened to "Andalusian" for ease of speaking, especially in regions outside Al-Andalus. The vast majority of Al-Andalusians speak Al-Andalusian elvish as their native tongue, regardless of their ancestry.
From the highest merchant to the lowest herdsman, their primary pillars of life center around family, faith, and prosperity. These factors translate into many aspects of a culture that focuses on religious, mercantile, and cultural exchange with their neighbors. These pillars remain in common even from the city-dwelling to the nomadic peoples of Al-Andalus, though what each of these factors mean to them can vary from group to group.
The Al-Andalusians of old were largely the nomadic elves who roamed the arid lands beneath the Al-Andalusian Mountain Range, or built towns and trading posts there. After the Last of the Primordial Wars, men and others began to slowly filter in, intermixing with the local elves. Thus, many Al-Andalusians are of elvish descent, and numerous share cultural norms with the local nomadic elves, regardless of ancestry.
Adventurers: Al-Andalusians are common adventuring types, with many leaving home to spread their faith in the Heavens or to seek their fortunes as traveling merchants or mercenaries. While an Al-Andalusian could be of any class, divine classes are the most common in line with the reverence displayed by these peoples. Others could be cavaliers or rogues, seeking work along open roads or busy cities where their skills can be put to the test.
