Abelard Nak

Diplomate, Merchant, Teacher

Abelard Nak was born in Fleury in 202 CE. The sole child of Gibril and Lanka Nak, a wealthy merchant couple, he grew up travelling along the caravans of his parents beyond the Danatelian Lands. He is most well known for his authorship of The Adventurer's Travel Guide, a book which provided insight into many cultures until then foreign to the Danatelians.

"Okay, son! My boy! My little guy! My manly man, my beautiful prince! Lets go get fruit!"
— Gibril Nak, proud father of a trans child

The life of Abelard Nak has been the inspiration for many wondrous tales and legends, some attributed to him directly while others are only inspired by his travels. He served as a diplomat for the Troignan Court, as a spy for the Bertolonese during the Teeth Wars, as a court performer for the Queen of Ambrodia.

Life

Abelard Nak was born to wealthy parents, who had made their career travelling the long trade routes of the Inner Lands. He grew up in a multicultural, every changing background, learning how to speak several languages and participating in all matters relating to his parents trade. At an early age, Abelard started making demands he be identified as a boy, like his father, and his parents obliged with diligence.

As a young man,, Abelard was taught how to bargain for fair prices, appraise the quality of many materials and goods, and most importantly how to defend himself against the many bandits that stalked the trade routes. In his writings, Abelard spoke highly of this period of his life- how he enjoyed the ever changing landscapes, the constant flow of strangers becoming friends, the life under the stars.
