Hobbits

Concerning Hobbits….

Hobbits are most concentrated in the Shire of North Western Arda, but can be found anywhere in the world. They tend to be 2 to 4 feet in height and have an average lifespan of 90 – 100 years.


While some choose to be part of the adventuring world, these are anomalies. In general, hobbits shy away from the bizarre or unusual. They are very dexterous and craft fine handiwork. Their religion tends to be a series of celebrations centering on nature. They are cheery and peaceful without ambition. They tend to be conformists who avoid the unknown and shun adventure.

There are three main branches of Shire hobbits:

• Fallohides are the most prone to mingle with big people, and many live in Bree.
• Stoors rarely deal with other races.
• Harfoots prefer to interact with dwarves if they must deal with other races.
