Law of Collective Enchantment
The Law of Collective Enchantment is a principle that states that the use of powerful magic is negatively exponentially proportional to the number of participants in the casting. As such, more powerful spells required exponentially more mages to be cast in lieu of a lone mage of sufficient power. This law has led to the classification of most spells into 10 levels, with the first being considered Level 0, as they can be cast by nearly any user of magic with very little effort.
