Session 1: Beginnings in Culgatha Report

General Summary

The party each individually arrived in Culgatha and stayed at the inn/quarters provided by the Culgatha Archives for visiting researchers before attending their research time slot the next day. There were two other people with them at the Archive Quarters and in their time slot who happened to be connected with the local Thieves' Guild.   These thieves recognized the magical book held by Sylvanas Bloodhoof and, after the time slot in the Archives was up, attempted to mug the party and steal the book. In reality, they were not just connected to the local Thieves' Guild, but they were members of the cult from which Mirage escaped and which burned down the village Sylvanas Bloodhoof was from after she stole the book from them at a nearby archaeological digsite.   After a short battle resulting in the killing of two thieves and the capture of two others, the party was apprehended by the city guard. Upon being brought to the primary Guards' Tower, they were interviewed by Essien Cueto, the captain of the Culgatha City Guard. He offered them the chance to help take down this local Thieves' Guild in exchange for not having charges pressed against them for the death of the two thieves, the torture of another, and a number of other things.

Notes

The characters discovered the following information:   Pledge: Discovered that the symbol from his vision is related to the ancient Kalamaru civilization within the Machatun Mountains. Discovered that a sarcophagus with that symbol carved into its lid was discovered at an excavation and was going to be sent to the Culgatha Archives for further research around three to four years ago. However, it never arrived, instead disappearing after reaching Bakkuar where its contents were supposed to be catalogued.   Sylvanas: Discovered that there was a god named Tharizdun who led a war against the rest of the Gods after freeing many primordials. This war became known as the War of Many Suns, and upon his defeat Tharizdun was imprisoned by the combined power of the rest of the gods. Mirage: Discovered that one of the symbols on his cube is one that is most commonly used to mark keys and doors in religious rituals or places of religious significance. ARZ_221 Discovered references to three different places that could be the place he awoke. These are: Verdonne Military Site A7, Laboratory A4, Facility R3
