The Church of the Silver Flame
Structure
The Church of the Silver Flame is separated into two distinct parts: the clerical and the militant. The militant part is comprised of pious warriors, knights, paladins, war clerics, and exorcists. Meanwhile, the clerical part takes care of administrative tasks as well as general worship, traveling priests, and other such activities.
Public Agenda
The goal of the Church of the Silver Flame is to eradicate evil from the world. The definition of these evils is very general, spanning from fiends, demons, and monsters to corruption and greed.
History
The Church of the Silver Flame began thousands of years ago in the centuries following the Great Desolation when the Silver Flame became widely known to the world. A powerful warrior who fought countless battles against the immense powers of evil, sometimes even defeating powerful devils single-handedly, during the war died in the process of defeating Orcus. The Silver Flame took notice of their great deeds, both on and off of the battlefield, preserving their soul and taking it into itself. As such, the Silver Flame, an entity of pure light and good that had been worshipped by small cults throughout history, gained a spiritual host who could commune with the denizens of Ardrim. The Church of the Silver Flame, however, does not operate within Kalash. This is because of a highly contrasting difference between the way followings of the Silver Flame in and out of Kalash. Inside of Kalash, the Silver Flame has been absorbed as part of their dominant faith, the Path of Light with their prime deity, il-Yannah, or "the Great Light."
