Description: Atacan is a trickster God who is worshipped across the Michocan Empire. Atacan is best known for drinking Bat'leche to excess and embarassing himself in the court of the gods and then passing out in the bushes and waking up with a massive hangover. According to the myth, in the morning when Atacan wakes up from a night of drinking the hangover is so severe that Atacan cuts his own head off to stop the pain. In the morning his head has reattached, and having not learned his lesson goes throught the same cycle everyday. Bat'leche is drink made from the inner bark of certain trees, the juice of a small catus, and the water from specific cenote in the northern part of the Cuacuautla Forest. The drink is extremely potent and while under its influence the character should be considered to be stunned. The date of 21 Si (21st day of the fourth month) is dedicated to Atacan, which is set aside for drinking Bat'leche to excess. The celebration is observed by all levels of Michocan society. It is the one day when any behavior is excused, although there is frequently embarasment the next day, accompanied by a poweful hangover.
