When Aresa was created, Iriall hoarded its power, but the other Infinite Ones grew jealous and sought it for themselves. Zehk's nefarious scheme to rule the material plane was to brainwash its inhabitants into accepting his presence and rejecting the others. He wrote an unintelligible script on two pillars carved from mountains, and cast them into what is now known as the Deadlands. Many have sought them out and attempted to decipher them, and have been lured by the false promises of safety and peace into worshiping Death and Darkness, despite their living nature.
