Moremoss Fen
Where the River Mend flows into the low flatlands lies the Moremoss Fen, a wide and nearly impassable swampland. The river flows slowly through the fen, its course changing unpredictably from year to year. Surrounding the river are hundreds of stagnant pools of murky water, remnants of older river-courses or ancient lakes. At the northern end of the fen, the Mar River plunges over a great waterfall and flows the remaining few miles to the sea.
