(Real-world analog(s): Greco-Roman Post-Imperialism) Once the seat of an ancient, far-reaching empire, Thysia is a shadow of its former self, yet no less vibrant for its centuries of downsizing. Its cultural roots are deep; so deep that many other nations of the world may very well owe Thysia homage for parts of their own culture. It is through its people that many worldly wonders were discovered, glorious works of art made, and even ways of thinking and observing the known world were adopted.
Though weaker than it had been so long ago, Thysia has managed to keep its sovereignty intact and its soil free of invaders for centuries, as there are many who would seek the ancient treasures and tomes of knowledge that have been sealed away inside places for learning both the worldly and arcane.
Because at one point its influence was spread across Arethel, Thysian population is among the most racially mixed of all the major and minor nations in the world. Despite the home-country being located between a temperate and tundra zone, there are peoples there that had at one point been native to southern countries closer to the equator.
