The Abyss

The Abyss, with all its infinite layers, is a chaotic evil plane of existence nearly entirely inhabited by its natural denizens, demons. Uncountable layers are haphazardly stacked atop one another in this space, and are nearly impossible to traverse without intimate knowledge of this plane, and/or where its portals and gates are located. Each layer is known to bear their own unique characteristics, such as vast cityscapes, zero gravity, unhospitable wasteland, undying hellscape, swirling maelstroms of pure chaos, or endless crystalline badlands or desert. Regardless of the unique characteristics to each layer however, the effects of this realm of pure chaos and evil would be profound upon any being that is not similarly evil.
