Banfort
Banfort, with its rich history as an Alandran colonial fort, stands as a testament to the region’s past. Initially established to protect the western approach to the Gold Sea, it served as a military bastion for about a century. Its strategic importance was recognized by the Alandran Crown, although eventually, the fort was deemed too isolated to maintain and was abandoned.
The dawn of the Aurium Pirate Republic marked a new era for Banfort. The mutineers, who sought a new life away from the control of the Alandran Crown, found the abandoned fort to be an ideal location to establish a community. They transformed the ruins into a thriving mining and farming town, utilizing the fort’s solid foundations to build structures that would support their new way of life.
Today, Banfort is a quiet town, its people dedicated to their work in the fields and mines. The historical significance of Banfort is not just in its past as a military fort, but also in its transformation into a self-sufficient community that contributes to the prosperity of the Aurium Pirate Republic. It’s a place where history and progress coexist, creating a unique and peaceful town.

Districts
- Old Fort: The heart of Banfort, where the remnants of the colonial fortifications still stand. This area is rich in history, with old cannons and walls that tell stories of past battles.
- Palm District: A bustling area where the produce from the local farms is sold. It’s a lively place where traders from Porthampton come to buy staple crops.
- Mining Quarter: Home to the miners and their families, this district has a network of tunnels and shafts that delve deep into the earth, extracting valuable minerals that contribute to the town’s economy. The mines are mostly empty now, though.
- The Steps: Many of the town's houses are found below the Old Fort, built along its crumbling foundations. Most are built from the same stone as the old fort, giving the area a cohesive and historical feel.
- Westham Harbor: Although not as busy as the ports in Porthampton, Banfort’s harbor is a quaint area where small fishing boats and trade vessels dock.
