Tatarin
Tatarin, a colonial Korolevian city built into the cliffside of Mount Kharazan, is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of its people. In the polar climate where the city resides, the harsh, dark winters and temperate, sunny summers shape the lives of its inhabitants. The city overlooks a freezing sea, which serves as a crucial trade route despite the icy conditions.
The architecture of Tatarin is uniquely adapted to its environment, with buildings carved directly into the mountain’s snowy facade. This not only provides insulation against the extreme cold but also creates a striking visual harmony with the landscape. The city’s infrastructure is designed to withstand the heavy snowfall and the strong winds that sweep across the mountain.
The people of Tatarin, primarily dwarves, are known for their strong community bonds. The city's architecture and awe-inspiring location stand as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the Korolevian people, who thrive in one of the most challenging environments in the world.

Government
Tatarin is ruled by the Pale Council, which is composed of seven members. Three--including the President--are appointed by the Tsar of Korolevia, three are appointed from the local population by the President, and one is elected by the Tatarins. The council creates policy for the city and relies on the city's Administrator--an unelected professional hired by the Council--to administer whatever policy it dictates.
