The Consortium International of Tradesmen

This powerful group of merchants operates a global network of trade, finance, and business. Nearly every major city in Argea operates a CIT Bureau. Colloquially the organization is referred to as the CIT. The CIT is particularly popular among businessmen because it generates prodigious wealth for its stockholders and every card-carrying member of the organization is a stockholder. In fact, it's a requirement to join the CIT: members must purchase at least one unit of stock. The price of CIT stock ranges between 1 and 10 platinum but never drops below 1 platinum piece. The price is rarely so low, however.
The CIT is not beholden to anything other than profit. The fees and wealth it accumulates are paid to its members on a quarterly basis. Each quarter, couriers are dispatched from the CIT's headquarters in Edmund's Bridge to each Bureau across Argea. The couriers are a tempting target for thieves and bandits, so they are always well-guarded. It is incredibly rare for a courier to be waylaid en route to a Bureau.

Structure

The CIT is structured as a business. It is led by an individual (the CEO) in a committee with other executives:

• Chief Operations Officer (COO): responsible for company efficiency, process improvement, and overall operations of the company; 2nd in command
• Chief Capital Officer (CCO): responsible for the distribution of profits and dividends to stockholders; responsible for new asset acquisitions
• Chief Logistics Officer (CLO): responsible for the distribution of commodities and the efficiency of logistical operations; calculates salaries and capital distributions
• Chief Security Officer (CSO): responsible for the security of company assets, buildings, and people
• Chief Trading Officer (CTO): responsible for the trade of company assets, commodities, equities, etc. to other organizations

A veritable army of managers help keep the company running day-to-day. This next level of managers includes:

• Directors
• Vice Presidents

Below the middle management are the common CIT employees:

• Associates
• Contractors

Culture

Everything in the CIT is dedicated to one thing: profit. There is no other moral code. Employees can largely act according to their own interests as long as they do not harm the company's profit.

Public Agenda

The CIT works to create (and spread) wealth. It often pays bribes and subsidies to the cities in which it operates which makes it a popular partner in municipal affairs.

Assets

It is no secret that the CIT represents some of the most wealthy and powerful people in Argea. While the exact numbers are a closely guarded secret, it is assumed that the CIT owns billions of gold coins, thousands of ships, and even a private army. Each of the chief executives resides in a castle owned and managed by the company.
