Deities and Aspects
Within the world of Argent there are powerful beings that watch over the realm, their existence alone leaves nearly other being in awe. These creatures are known as deities, or to some, gods. These creatures are the most powerful beings in existence, with the only thing more powerful than a deity being another of higher status. There are three tiers of deity: Lesser, greater, and prime. There are no beings in existence stronger than a prime deity.
Each deity reigns over a concept or list of concepts. These concepts are known as a gods portfolio. The more powerful a god, the more specific their portfolio. There are a limited number of prime gods that can exist at once. One of creation, one of destruction, and one of protection. However, there is theoretically no limit to the number of greater and lesser gods that can exist, so long as something exists to create them. Gods can only be created in response to long term worship by mass amounts of people, or by the prime god of creation.
Aspects
A god is all powerful over the aspects of their portfolio, but with the exception of Shiwa, no known gods portfolio includes anything close to omnipotence. They may have incredibly enhanced perception, or magic that allows them to know more and see more, but they are still only one creature regardless of their lack of mortality. It is this reason why gods collect loyal servants known as aspects. Beings formed from mortal souls so loyal to their god that they manifest as the embodiment of a single aspect of their portfolio. Some gods have many aspects, while others have less, and keep their numbers to a loyal few. Where Divicia is known to have many aspects in her employ, where Shiwa has, as far as anyone knows, only one. Aspects are as powerful as they are loyal, with their strength nearly as powerful as that of a god when at their best, or, at their worst, nearly non-existent. Aspects like Caeda, who exist out of duty, not loyalty, are in the middle range when it comes to the spectrum of an aspects possible power.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
