Testifaria

Built on the center island of Lake Young, the small vice kingdom of Testifaria was once governed independently by a number of High Elves in the early years of the Eminent Territories sudden post flood growth. A gift from Vandria to the original ruler, the young king Othello Magnus. This young man was a hero during many battles with the natives of the surface when the dragons rose, and in the battles to clear the Eminent for the dragon empress, he impressed her. He was gifted this island as a gift, under the contingent that when it was called for her to serve, all under her would follow with as much fervor as Othello showed her.   In the time since it's destruction, Testifaria remains a ruined kingdom of scorched cities and fallen empire. Monsters roam the land, with more independent dragonkind or other various beasts taking to the empty castles and making them into lairs or homes. Explorers often ponder what may remain underneath the kingdom, specifically what the once capital city, aptly called Magnus, might have in store in it's ruined halls. When Testifaria was built, it was built on the premise that it was a place free of the oppression of the dragonkind, but in such a way that it initially didn't taunt the dragons. It was branded as a distraction, an escape, a change of pace, and so on. The people of Testifaria were ruled by one of Vandria's greater generals, the golden dragon Gial. A powerful leader, with strong senses of tradition. During their time in power, Testifaria was known as a powerful southern force, but was respected for their leadership. They had rather positive political ties with the people of Halfhill, and the Archons never had real opinions, treating them as an Eminent city state.   In time, Othello would die, and a new generation of the Magnus family would be put into power. Farious Magnus was a man who history views as short sighted. The dragons speak of his actions as treasonous and disrespectful. As the dragons tell it, the people of Testifaria denounced their rulers, and even went so far as to threaten them. Gial responded with what he deemed an appropriate response of force. The dragons tell a tale of resistance, and mutiny. Supposedly the people of Testifaria had plans to betray the dragons of the Eminent. They asked for peace, and their diplomats were slain. They made further attempts, and each one failed. After a number of lasting conflicts, Vandria allowed Gial to take it into his own hands. Gial flew to the capital city himself, and burned all of Testifaria to the ground. He killed indiscriminately, treating every citizen of Testifaria as a traitor to the Eminent and to Vandria herself.   Stories tell of cyclones of flame erupting as if from nowhere, as the massive golden scaled titan circled the cities of their island home. They destroyed without concern for innocence, condemning any who happened to fall into the storms path. Meanwhile, draconic forces overtook and razed every settlement on the island. One by one growing closer to Magnus itself. As the smoke cleared, a silence would fall. In the wake of the destruction, few of the elves of Testifaria escaped. Those that did either died, or made their loyalty to the Eminent clear. The entire Magnus line, as far as those of Sear knows, has been removed from the surface of Argent. Though the Eminent isn't aggressive or hostile to mortals, Testifaria stands as a statement of it's own. The Eminent is no force to trifle with, and aggression will be met with swift and brutal retaliation.
